國民黨台中市議員與大批家長，昨（十七）日到光明國中前召開記者會，抗議教育局為何讓學校繼續上不公不母的「性別光譜」？要求學校尊重議會、家長，立即停止使用具爭議性教材。針對國民黨議員質疑國中教材，市府表示，教材是馬政府時期教育部審查通過，教育應該要尊重專業，校方是選擇合法的教材，不樂見有政治人物干預校方的選書權。
市議會教育委員會副召集人李中、市議員黃馨慧、法治暨人權基金會董事長、律師洪嘉鴻數十名學生家長到市立光明國中前表達訴求，強調市議會第四次定期會決議「具爭議性之課綱、教材、宣傳品不宜使用」，但開學後，有國中家長赫然發現，所謂探討「我是公還是母的」的性別光譜教材，學校依舊在使用。
目前，中市具有爭議性的國中性別教育教材，有康軒、翰林二家出版社，剛好全市國精選優惠中，有五十五所用康軒版、廿一所用翰林版，幾乎全中市的性別平等教育，使用的教材都有「性別光譜」內容。
李中表示，未來將會提案擬定相關「性平教育（教材）自治條例」，除了具有爭議性教材規範不得使用外，也將納入家長代表共同審議性平教育教材，遏止類似事件再次發生。
黃馨慧表示，教育孩子尊重「性別平等」有其必要性，但是必須選用「適合」的教材，「性別光譜」根本沒有實質意義，這是在教孩子去質疑「自己的性別嗎？」，全民九十九%都認同二元性別，為何學校要去刻意模糊、引導孩子質疑自己性別？
黃馨慧強調，這些有問題的教材，去年都已經在議會充分討論，才三讀通過決議「不得使用」，剛開學還不到一周，呼籲教育局趕快通知全市國中，停止使用具爭議性教材，不要讓家長擔心、學校也在「教或不教」無所適從。
對此，市府回應表示，審定國中小教科書的主責機關為教育部、國家教育研究院，國民黨議員質疑之教科書為馬英九總統執政時期的教育部、國家教育研究院審定通過。
光明國中校長胡金枝說，回收書籍是「消極」行為，學校會更積極讓教課老師向學生說明「性別光譜」是有爭議性的內容，並改以學校自編「生涯學習檔案」做為替代教材，以「尊重」與「愛」教導學生正確性平觀念，希望學生家長能放心。

外匯交易員指出，新台幣早盤受人民幣走揚、出口商拋匯等因素激勵，延續昨天升值態勢，盤中一度升破32.2元。但進口商難得等到近期相對好的美元買點，因此買盤大舉出籠，加上外資午盤後匯出力道加大，導致新台幣由升轉貶，終場小貶1.5分作收，終止連2日升值。
展望新台幣後市，外匯交易員表示，新台幣歷經連11貶並創近半年低點後，貶勢暫已趨緩，短線應在32.2元至32.3元震盪。不過觀察海外無本金交割遠期外匯市場（NDF），美元兌新台幣換匯點轉為溢價，顯示市場仍看貶新台幣，後續須關注亞幣走勢、外資動向以及出口商拋匯情況。
新台幣兌美元今天開盤價為32.240元，最高32.188元、最低32.293元，尾盤收32.260元，貶值1.5分。1060104
